Road Trip West

1 Subaru Outback, 2 days of nonstop driving, 4 guys, 2600 miles. When our good friend Steph asked us to come out to Sun Valley, Idaho to play some shows with her - opening for Brandi Carlile - my good friends Pete, Jack, Zack and I loaded up my parents aging Subaru with camping gear and instruments and headed west. We figured in order to maximize our time for adventures out west, we would drive nonstop until we got to Idaho. Every tank of gas - approximately 4 hrs of driving - we rotated drivers, downed another cup of gas station coffee, and continued onward. After a not too out-of-the-way detour to Salt Lake City for some well-needed, free gelato - My friend Zack somehow knows someone no matter where we go - we made it to Sun Vally 2 days after our departure.
